MEMBERSHIP

• NSBE General Body Member: As a member of NSBE, I can encourage young students of diversity to consider STEM careers; Show them young people, who look like them, pursuing careers in fields they never thought possible.  As an organization, we promote cultural responsibility, academic excellence, and community involvement. From this membership I have learned how my presence and energy can influence a community of people. 

• GE Co-op Volunteer Committee Chair: I organized 10+ volunteering events for the co-op population to attend while on rotation at GE. From this, I learned how to reach out to organizations in an effective and professional manner.

• Darwin T Turner Scholarship Recipient: This scholarship program celebrates diversity while promoting our three pillars of Scholarship, Service, and Success. Because of our pillars, I participate in various service events, help facilitate diversity programs on campus, and am connected with many useful resources. From being in this program I have learned that it is okay to ask questions, and that diversity is something to celebrate, not shy away from.
